Can we ‘Inspire’ you to join?

The ‘Inspire Study Programme’ is a work-based learning programme for 16 to 18 year olds, offering the opportunity for learners to develop the skills to find and maintain education and employment, and thrive in a career. We are currently looking for referrals to join our next programme beginning on 7th March.

Do you want to join or know anyone who might?

The Inspire Study Programme allows learners to participate in a broad range of personal and social development activities in the classroom, the workplace and at a range of training and activity venues – indoors and out.

Each session is different and could include: reading, writing, practical group tasks, problem solving, sports, physical activities, work experience and more.

The main focus of the course is for learners to develop their universal employment skills, but the course also aims to help learners to develop their functional skills in maths and English, increase their confidence and motivation, and address any specific individual issues that might be affecting them personally.

Appropriate transport and food arrangements will be provided. On completion of the programme, learners will be awarded with recognised qualifications and certificates, and supported to move on to suitable education or employment progression opportunities.

To be eligible for the Inspire Study Programme, learners must have been aged 16 to 18 at the start of the current academic year (1st September 2015) and must not be enrolled on another full-time course at the time of joining. Learners must be keen to develop their own skills and open to trying new things. We are keen to recruit learners that would benefit most from this provision – specifically those that would otherwise not be in education without this option.

If you would like more information or you would like to make a referral, please contact the project staff outlined below:

Sam Hill   (07740 096473;

Rachel Greig   (07867 459187;

The tutors will be happy to meet individually with any learners that are interested in the programme - initially to introduce themselves - and to discuss what the course is all about.

Update on Current Programme:

Since the beginning of October 2015, 8 young people across Wiltshire have been participating in the Inspire Study Programme on a 2-days-per-week timetable. The group has bonded well and each learner has not only embraced responsibility for their own learning, but has also supported others to succeed too.

One learner has commented, “I’ve met a few new people and the course has helped me to get into a routine again – I feel confident enough to apply for college and part time jobs now.” The current group is on track to complete the programme by 5th February. With this in mind, the learners are evaluating the opportunities available to them to progress in education and/or employment. If you have an opportunity that you would like to us to advertise to the group, please get in touch with Sam or Rachel.
