What is Get Kicking?

The Get Kicking project is intended to engage & involve communities in the provision of football across Wiltshire and Swindon. The emphasis is on grass roots development to widen active participation, improve skills and ensure there will be sustainable quality provision for youth football in Wiltshire & Swindon long into the future.

Since the project commenced in September 2004, it has grown in strength. Already the project has recruited 29 football coaches (7 being part-time community coaches). In total, the coaches have donated a staggering 2621 hours in 313 football sessions. As one of the criteria for joining the project is providing training for the coaches, we have so far helped 18 coaches to achieve a qualification in coaching football.
